The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) is currently in Liberia

to share the experience with their National Elections Commission (NEC) and to offer technical support on the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) System. The Director of Data Management and Voters Roll, Jusufu Henry Swaray, and the Assistant Director of Administration, Aiah Quiwa, are there.

The group will be in Liberia for five days, according to a previous announcement from the NEC there.

In order to prepare for the 2023 BVR exercise's implementation on March 20, Daivdatta Browne Lansanah, the Chairperson for the NEC in Liberia, requested assistance from the Chairman of ECSL under the Economic Commission of Network of Elections Commissions of West Africa (ECONEC) Information Sharing Agreement. According to Jusufu Henry Swaray, Director of Data Management and Voters Roll of ECSL, the delegation's key interactions will be with the Data Center, where they will share templates and other material crucial to the successful rollout of the NEC BVR system in the nation.

The delegation is pleased to support Liberia's transition from Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) to BVR, which he highlighted is a more widely used and respected method, he continued.
